Me llamo Megan

Hola! My name is Megan Holt and I'm from a small town called Hope Valley in Rhode Island. I'm a junior at Chariho High School and I've applied to spend my summer in Chile through AFS intercultural programs! This year my family is hosting an exchange student from Switzerland named Celine. It's been a great experience to have a sister and I've already learned so much about her culture. I'm hoping that I will be able to save up enough money to go abroad myself and learn about Chile. I've always dreamed about traveling, and hopefully this summer I'll get my chance! I'm interested in learning about other countries and I'll never get another experience quite like this. I love the idea of actually living with a normal family instead of just staying in a hotel and not really learning about the culture. I want to know what people my age are like in other countries; what they like to do, what their school is like, etc. I agree with AFS that having teenagers study abroad is a great way to create global peace and understanding. There's a whole world out there that not many people my age get to see and don't know about. I hope I can teach my future friends in Chile about United States culture and I can learn from them. When I return I hope to have a better understanding of the world! My goal is to raise $6000 to pay for my trip. It's not going to be easy, but hopefully I can raise the money! I'm going to work very hard to raise the money myself, but I still need help! Any donation, big or small, would be greatly appreciated! To sponsor my AFS program now, please click the ChipIn button.
Adios, Megan!
